Welcome
As you venture
through our site,
you will discover the story of West Virginia's unique relationship to the
Civil War. Be sure to check out West Virginia Independence Hall
itself, as the building's architecture and history are quite
impressive. And be sure to view the newest Foundation project, the
development of a special exhibit to house thirteen Civil War battle flags.
We have included many photos and hope you will take the time to view every
one. And, lastly but certainly not least, we hope that you
will come to the Hall and experience history first-hand.
Tap the buttons on the left and you are on
your way to a visit stepping back in time.
West Virginia Independence Hall is
located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia at Wheeling, directly
off of I-70 - just a 50 minute drive from Pittsburgh, PA. The city is
resplendent in Victorian architecture and offers a great variety of
family-oriented tour experiences through all seasons. Plan to visit
soon. The residents of the "Friendly City" will heartily
welcome you.
